Layer types

I am facing problem in understanding the layer type using GMS v3.1 interface to MODFLOW 96. Supposing that I divide an aquifer into 5 layers. First layer is assigned as unconfined type (0). How does one assign unconfined layer type for 2nd layer? How is this layer type assigned for rest of the layers. Please anyone can explain on this?

According to the Online Guide To MODFLOW, under BCF package, LAYCON:

"• 1—unconfined—Transmissivity of the layer varies. It is calculated from the saturated thickness and hydraulic conductivity. The storage coefficient is constant. This type code is valid only for layer 1."
