timfoster
Hi, Could you tell me what the best way to import a Tin dataset from ArcGIS into WMS 7.1 is? Thanks, Tim
Chris Smemoe
Tim, If you're not worried about keeping the triangles, I'd just convert it to a raster (grid) dataset and save this as an Arc/Info ASCII grid and then read this into WMS. Just make sure your cell size is about the same as your TIN point density and you should end up with a pretty accurate dataset. You can always convert the grid (DEM) to a TIN in WMS. If you need the triangles, you might be able to save it as a TIN in UNGENERATE format (with the NET option selected, as an ASCII file) and read this into WMS. If you decide to do this, let us know how it goes. There is also a way to export your TIN from ArcGIS as a CAD file and then read the CAD file into WMS and convert it to a TIN.
