cnr3
As you know MODFLOW transport calibration with PEST cannot be done in GMS GUI at the same time as heads and flux. This is a major limitation and without simultaneous calibration of both flow and transport, it is extremely difficult (impossible) to reduce the non-uniqueness in models. For our recent request to facilitate this feature, GMS informed that this change/update can be given a priority, if the popularity of the request is high. So, if you also feel that it is worthwhile to include this feature in PEST through the GMS, please email GMS with a feature request (support@aquaveo.com). julian.weir
Yes, this would be an excellent improvement to GMS' PEST interface. Having the ability to calibrate both flow (MODFLOW) and transport (MT3DMS) at the same time, within the GUI, would make a big improvement to reducing model non-uniqueness. It would be great if you would give this high priority to include in GMS as it is something we've been asking for a few years now. I understand Groundwater Vistas has the ability to do this. Thanks.
