Hi,

I am looking for a method to change the vertical color scale for NED raster image (*.tif) downloaded using GMS. Currently, it has default GMS color scale. I appreciate if someone can show how to change the color ramp and related elevations steps in the color scale.

Thank you,

Lalith

What version of GMS are you using? In 10.0, in the Display Options dialog under GIS Data there is an option to change the Shader. There are currently only four shaders available. You can't edit these shaders directly in the Display Options dialog, but they show up as user defined color palettes in the Color Palettes dialog and you can edit them there.

A workaround to edit them is to create something that can be contoured, like a UGrid, go into the display options for the UGrid and turn on contours, go into the UGrid contour options and click the Color Ramp button. Then, by setting the Palette method to User defined you can select the palette and edit it. The palettes won't show up there until they are used so you need to set the Shader in the GIS Data display options first before the palette for that shader shows up in the Color Options dialog.
