I'm working on a model using GMS, and I need to convert the modflow hdf5 files from GMS to original modflow files (from HDF5 to ASCII) so I can use it in GW Vistas. I found a link which provide a way to do that, but I can't run gms2mf2k.exe provided in this link. http://www.et.byu.edu/~njones/modflow-hdf5/

How can I convert the HDF5 files? thank you

In GMS 10.0 there are two ways to export the model files to native text:

First, you can select the MODFLOW | Global Options... menu item and turn on "Save native text copy." When this option is on an additional text copy of the model will be saved. The HDF5 version of the model is saved something like projectName_MODFLOW and the text version is saved as projectName_MODFLOW_text. The Saving Native Text tutorial goes through this in detail. See http://www.aquaveo.com/software/gms-learning-tutorials.

Second, you can select the MODFLOW | Advanced | Export Native Text... menu item and then navigate and select the model name file (*.mfn) you want to export. The text model will be saved in a new folder named Out_Mf2k in the folder with the name file. For more info see http://www.xmswiki.com/wiki/GMS:MODFLOW_with_HDF5#Exporting_Native_MODFLOW_Files.
