calculate z-value differences of two scatter sets

Hi there

I have two identical scatter sets with different z-values. Is there a way to calculate the difference between the z-values with the data calculator? I'm not able to select the "base" and alternate data set in the "compare data set" dialogue. I can only select one data set. Any ideas?

Thanks

cheers

Chris

Chris,

To calculate the difference between the z-values of two data sets that are in different scatter sets, you'll first need to interpolate one data set to the other scatter set. To do this, select one of the scatter sets, then "Scatter | Interpolate to Scatter... | From Other Scatter Set". You'll then need to select the "Scatter Set To Interpolate From" in the upper right, and specify any other interpolation options as you see fit. Then you'll be able to subtract one data set from the other by going into the data calculator "Data | Data Calculator" and entering "b-a" in the "calculator" field.

Nice, thank you Todd!
