hello everybody i have a problem with my model and i hope you could help i have complex stratigraphy. so first i used Modflow-USG , you can see the figure of my U-grid in the attached figure, I tried to add a recharge at the top cell but i couldnot >>I searched and the solution was adding a new upper inactive layer, but i could not add it , i hope you help me do this and tell me the steps >> i also tried modflow 2000 but in the step of solid-..> modflow it gave me an error similar to that i cannot find a solution please help
Hi all, Using the option "use screen" for "wells" in sources/sinks, am I telling the model that the water extraction is only carried out in this interval? When I turn on this option GMS transforms my extraction wells in injection wells!! Why is that? Is it a software problem? Best regards Filipe Miguéns
Hello everyone, Can someone tell me if there's a limited number of observation points using MODFLOW USG? I have 77 observation points for my model, but when I create the files in GMS it considers only 7 of them! I started my model from scratch using MODFLOW-USG, so I cannot import the 3D Grid files as exemplified in the tutorial. Another thing that occurs in my model after running it, is that the observation targets don't show the same value as the generated head surface?! Can you help me? Best regards Filipe Miguéns
Hi there, I'm having a problem related with assigning specified flow boundary conditions to my UGrid / Modflow-USG model. The error appears when I do the '' Map to MODFLOW'' option while converting my conceptual model to UGrid numerical model. I have read the helping document saying that If you want to use ''Specified flow boundary condition'' the UGrid must be a stacked grid. A stacked grid is one in which there is no vertical discritization of layers and the horizontal discritization of all layers is the same. (i.e. the Index of Vertical Sub-Discretization (IVSD) in the UnStructured Grid Discretization (DISU) package could be set to -1) (See the Figure attached). Firstly, I did not understand what this means and how to find the IVSD in the DISU package and set it to -1 to be able to use specified flow boundary condition. In my model there are 2 groundwater divide boundaries which must be zero flow and 2 formation boundaries where the aquifer feeds from neighboring formations with a specified flow value. If I ll have to change my specified flow bound. cond. with something else or If there is a way to use them, could you please help me to find the solution? Thank You!
