    GIS and GSSHA

Hi all, Some friends of mine want to join this forum. But, after they registered and validated their account and email address, they still unable to post for new topic. May we have the information about the requirement for members to post for new topic? I have a question about GIS mapping to feature object. When working with GSSHA and mapping the Land use and soil type, an error occurred as shown in the attachment. we haven't got any idea about the outside and inside polygon. Is there any idea where does this error come from? Would you mind to give us any information about which one is the ou

    Upgrade WMS 8.2

Hi all, Currently i have WMS 8.1. I want to upgrade it to WMS 8.2. I have downloaded the the full software. I tried to installed it, but how would i make the version 8.2 works? Thank you very much
  7. ough, i do really sorry to missed it. would you mind to share the material for that seminar? I've just read the topic by now. So sad.. anyway, when will the next webseminar held? thank you
  8. Hi, nice to meet you.

  9. Hi all, just little questions today. 1. is there any possibility to run WMS v.7.0 in Vista OS completely? i am just curious about it. and, what about the new one? 2. if i am about to update/upgrade my software to the latest version, can i have my previous version back later when i get any difficulties with the new one? Thank you very much for any hint
  10. Dear Sheraz, perhaps you can create the stream arc first, and then save the feature arc as a shape file. to create the stream arc, we can use DEM module, create some outlet points, and convert DEM to stream arc. otherwise, you can also create the basin and save the result (feature arc in shapefile). i hope that helps any comment? *i'm not the specialist, i'm just a user, trying to get along with this software more and more, so let's share*
  11. Dear all, I am using WMS v.8. I am simulating several watersheds (two major streams). but, as i dont have enough DEM data, i have to edit several watershed. So i go to Map Module, and edit the feature object. but, seems like it takes forever to edit one arc or two. is there any tips / trick to speed up the editing process? thank you very much.

    Copy to clip board

Thank you Todd, yes i have. i allways using the *print screen* in the earlier version of WMS. since WMS v.8 has the ability of multiplying the copied image, i hope a lot from it. yea, thats not really glamorous. yea, need an extra to producing Map from WMS result. Regards, ida

    DEM/TOPAZ accuracy

yea, i've tried a different dem cell size (much smaller), and i got it. thank you very much
  15. Dear all, i am simulating a model uwing WMS v 8.1. after i get all basin delineated, i wanted to copy my model to clipboard. as my model is a vast area, i need to multiplied the copied data 2x or 3x. but, the result i got did not show all basin data (e.g. basin area and its unit) as displayed in the model. i lost several basin data in the clip board. thank you very much. looking forward for any reply
  16. Dear All, I am new in using SMS v.10. here i have a question. I want to build a simulation of several ponds at its channels in an area (all ponds are relatively near). can we simulate several ponds in one project? otherwise, we might simulate them into several project, because there might be problems in disjoint nodes. thank you very much for the information. Regards, _ida_

    DEM/TOPAZ accuracy

Dear Clark, Yes you were right. i have my unit mixed up. The area that we are simulating is about 100 square miles. We delineates the flow accumulation using TOPAZ in DEM module. In the area, we have many channels and roads in it. The road is 30 meters wide, and the channel is about 4-6 meters wide. The problem is while we run the TOPAZ calculation, sometimes we found that the flow accumulation were delineated across both the roads and the channel. (it supposed to be inclined both with the road and the channel). What is the DEM cell size that u recommend? What is the unit for cell width

  19. Dear all, i am modelling an area about 200 million square miles. there are some roads (its width is about 70 miles, and more than 200 miles of length) and some channels. i am running the TOPAZ calculation. but, i think i can't get the flow accumulation placed in the channel. the flow accumulation delineated accross the channel (different with what i predicted/ see in the site). was that because the width of the channel is very small relative to the total area? is there any suggestion how to simulate the channel, since i have a lot of channel in the area. a lot of Basin too. thank you v

    Save image

wew, thank you, yes i got it.
  21. Hi Mr.Barlow,

Anyway, why is your profile hasnt been updated yet?

    Save image

Dear all, how would be the best to save our simulation result (in this case, the map/contour,etc) into an image file with a high resolution? We need to print it out in an A3 paper or wider.. There is a jpeg and pdf option, i've tried it but i think we got a low quality for the image. Thank you very much, and sorry for a lot of questions i have.

    DEM cell

Dear clark, sorry for the late reply. Yes i am modelling some open pits in a model file.. I am using WMS 8.1..
  24. Dear all.. I am curious to know, can we save DEM flow accumulation which we calculated using TOPAZ Flow data before? I mean,i want to save it into DXF or other Drawing file.. Thanx you very much..
