Using wind and pressure data from NOAA in ADCIRC

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I need to use wind and pressure data from NOAA (http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/psd/cgi-bin/db_search/DBListFiles.pl?did=3&tid=25913&vid=30), which are in netCDF format, for running the ADCIRC model. Besides those files be in binary format, you use to say that I need to use the format fort.22, however I don´t understand that format. How can I use those files?

Thank you for your help.

Amy

The fort.22 is the generic wind input file and the format depends on the NWS setting in the control file (fort.15). See the fort.22 page on the ADCIRC site for descriptions. You'll have to process the netCDF files to match the format you pick.

Hi,

I am having problems in using wind and pressure data (they are in netCDF format) in SMS, using ADCIRC model. How can I use those files in my simulations? Is there any tutorial? Can you send me an example of the file format?

Thanks!

Amy
