HEC RAS in WMS

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am trying to do a flood plain delineation. I am running WMS 8.0 in conjuction with HEC-RAS

(v 3.01). When I click in WMS to read HEC-RAS solution, I loose functionality of WMS. As soon as, I close HEC-RAS WMS becomes functional but no solution is read. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

DC

DC,

I can suggest a few things right off the bat.

I would try using HEC-RAS 3.1.3: http://www.hec.usace.army.mil/software/hec...AS313_Setup.exe. I'm not familiar with HEC-RAS v3.01, but I do know that WMS 8.0 is fully compatible with HEC-RAS 3.1.3.

You also want to make sure you have the most current WMS 8.0 update: http://wms.aquaveo.com/wms80update.exe. This will make sure you have all the WMS 8.0 bug fixes.

Another thing to consider is that when you import your HEC-RAS solution, all your HEC-RAS cross-sections need to match those in WMS. This often causes problems. You should also make sure your rivers and reaches are all named the same in WMS and in RAS.

There could be a number of other things that could be wrong, but it's hard to say what without looking at your project.

Hope this helps!
