Lalith 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2018 (edited) Hi All, I would like to check the effectiveness of using canals to draining water into the ground with the gravity (opposite of drain) without using injection well. How do I model this in GMS modflow? Please let me know your suggestions. Thank you, Lalith Edited August 13, 2018 by Lalith
Sean Czarniecki 8 Report post Posted August 14, 2018 (edited) Increase the recharge in the cells where you are simulating the canals. Just an option - may not be exactly what you are looking for. Edited August 14, 2018 by Sean Czarniecki

Kirk 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2018 I have used stream flow routing package SFR2 in GMS to model canals. If stages in the canal are above the groundwater elevations they lose water, if canal stages are below the groundwater table, they gain water. Can work quite well, adjusting stream bed conductance to control gain/loss rates.
