old MODFLOW model

Recommended Posts

Hello again...

I received MODFLOW files of an old model.

Files names are: BAS.D64, BCF.N75, DRN.D11, GHB.DA1, SIP.DA3

Is there a way to open it in GMS ?

I think those are VisualMODFLOW files. I used to edit the files manually to get them to a format that GMS would read. It takes a little time, but can be done.

Hi,

Thanks for your help.

Do you have any idea which files in MODFLOW-GMS correspond to the files I mentioned (so I could use their format) ? Do you think that the files I have compose a complete MODFLOW model ?

You have the BASic file, the BCF file, a Drain file (DRN), a General Head Boundary (GHB) file, and the SIP solver package. Those files could be enough for a complete model, depending on what it does.
