Hello, I have XYZ ascii file that I am trying to import into SMS as scatter data so that I can interpolate to mesh. While importing, it goes well until it starts to triangulate when I get an error message that says: Other errors encountered: ---malloc failed: xms::triPoolInit ---Error: Unable to triangulate. What might be an issue? The ascii file that I am trying to import is 5 GB, and has more than 130 millions points. Could the size be an issue? Thank you very much.
Hello, I have a point shapefile that I am trying to import into SMS as scatter data. The data was created in ArcMap and each point as an associated elevation. I was able to import it into SMS but it comes in under GIS data instead of scatter data. Is there a different way I should be brining in this data? I do not have access to GMS or WMS and was therefore unable to try the answers I found on those forums for similar situations. Thank you.
When I color scatter points according to a user-defined color pallet, I can’t get GMS to let me use my own scale. GMS limits me to either a percentage scale or to a scale of -5 to 5 when I try to use values. I have environmental concentration data that varies over 8 orders of magnitude, so I’d like to be able to define a log scale beginning at a very small value up to a very large value, but I can’t. The percentage scale limits me to a scale of 0.0001 to 1.0. Could an option to color scatter points via a log scale be included in GMS?
Hello, I have a DEM file, and I would like to create a mesh from it. I imported the file as scatter points and then I filtered the data with the filter angles option. Then I made the triangulation, but in some areas I still have a huge amount of triangles, with elements connecting all the points of the DEM. How is it possible to create a coarser mesh, with bigger triangles? I would like to have an interpolation during the triangulation process, not only a connection of the scatter nodes… Thank you very much! Matteo
