  1. Hello guys, I am still a junior in wms and need a help? how can I know which hydrologic model is better to create hydrograph for a watershed ??? and I have some gauge stations and still not quite sure how to add their depth values to wms interface?

  3. Hi! I'm currently working on a WMS MODRAT model of keep coming across some weirdness. Certain actions make my WMS window instantly close and there doesn't seem to be a clear-cut pattern. Sometimes WMS closes when I click to start computing basins, or sometimes even something as small as clicking 'NEXT' on the time of concentration wizard will shut me out. I wonder if anyone else is having these issues as well? Another question I have, unrelated to the crash bug, has to do with having MODRAT calculate my Tc for me. It lists out which basin parameters are missing and in my case, a couple o
  4. Hi, I'm a student and I'm woking with WMS 11.0, I want to run a stochastic simulation using Manning's coefficients as Stochastic variables, the results of the simulation yields that there is a 100% fllod or 0% wich I think is not accurate, plus there is an error message that seems to pop u during the simulation about WMSRAS.exe. I don't know how to fix the problem. Thanks in advance for your help.
  5. Hi, I've been a heavy WMS user for over 3 years and recently started using the NSS model, and was wanting to know if someone could provide some clarification regarding how WMS is computing the watershed geometric characteristics for input into the regression equations. The regression equations I'm using require an area, a channel slope (at 10/85%), and a main-channel length. I've created a watershed model that is performing satisfactorily, but some of the geometric output numbers are a bit puzzling, specifically the channel length parameter. I've compared WMS output to my own measur
  6. I am having a problem with my WMS 10.1.17 where when I run the CleanDam tool and accept changes, but the resultant grid still has depressions. It isn't readily apparent until I run a GSSHA simulation and look at the ponding. When I turn on digital dams in display properties I get no display of digital dams, however when I look at the flow directions with my depth grid, I can plainly see all four arrows pointing inward and a pond. I turn on elevations display values which confirms the flow directions honor the elevation file. I have tried running CleanDam externally from WMS as well with no
  7. Dear All: I have a problem related to use WMS for building the bathymetry of Ce-Qual-W2. I closely followed the tutoiral :http://wmstutorials-10.0.aquaveo.com/35%20WaterQualityModeling-CEQUALW2.pdf. The problem is : 1. For 6.2 Create Branches, I want to only build one branch for my research area. After I created branch coverage, should I also right-click on the “Branch” coverage and select Build Polygon? When I do like this, the wms was crashed (I tested several times). 2. If I didn't build the polygon for my branch, I can continue to build the segment. However, when I finis
  8. Hello, I'm currently using GSSHA to model overland flow processes in a depression-dominated watershed. I've successfully mapped and retained the depressional characteristics of this basin, and have retained these features in the model and subsequent simulations. Now, I'd like to be able to determine the rate at which depressions fill from overland flow, and determine the extent of surface water connectivity between depressions using water depth contours at various times during a simulation. Is this possible using built-in WMS tools? Thanks, David
  9. Hi all, Why there's a difference in elevations between DEM data from USGS using WMS and google earth? I used DEM data from here: https://dds.cr.usgs.gov/srtm/version2_1/SRTM3/ Is there a better accurate more updated source? Thanks,

  11. WMS 10.1 Has been updated! The full installation can be downloaded here. The Tutorials can be found here.Bug fixes can be found here.
  12. I currently use WMS Version 9.1. I like the "Get Online Maps" and other added features in the new versions. Until recently, I was able to import "World Imagery" and "World Topo Map" but it's been few days when I try to import, error message (attached) pops up saying - "There was a problem loading online image. The Error ID is 20." However, I can still import "NAIP Color Imagery for US".
  13. Everybody, WMS 9.1 beta is now available from the Beta Releases section of the Aquaveo Download Center. If your maintenance license is active as of October 17, 2012, you are eligible to run this version. We encourage you to try it out since there have been many bug fixes, improvements, and new features added. A list of new features in WMS 9.1 is located on xmswiki.com. An updated list of bug fixes in WMS 9.0 and 9.1 is also available on the WMS bugfix page on xmswiki.com. We encourage to add any feature requests to the WMS feature request group on this forum. Thank you for your support o
  14. GSSHA needs observed peak and volume flow data to compare calibration runs for a closeness of fit. If an observed hydrograph has multiple peaks for a single event, how will automatic calibration in GSSHA deal with that? Also, does automatic calibration in GSSHA tends to match observed peak and volume only, but not the shape of hydrograph?
  15. I was exploring WMS-GSSHA results visualization and I have a question: Is it possible to show aggregated sediment loss on the map for a longterm simulation ? now I can only view one time step at a time , and I was wondering if I can also view sediment lost for example for the whole month ..using color ramp display on the map.
