  1. If you abort a run before it is completed you can read in the solution still. If you select MODFLOW|Read Solution and select the .mfn file for your model, it will read in a partial solution. With the active data set time series plot, you need to have a cell selected before it will show any values in the plot. If you have an example of this, send it support@aquaveo.com and we can take a look. Cameron
  2. Lattuada, Make sure in the MODFLOW|Parameters dialog there are no parameters set, you can delete them. Make sure you have mapped over the hk coverage to MODFLOW by right clicking on the coverage and selecting map to MODFLOW. Make sure you saved the model after this before you run it. Cameron
  3. Emiliano, You can convert coordinates to system WGS84. If you go to the edit|coordinate dialog, turn on the Global Projection button, click the Set Projection button, change the Projection to UTM, and change the Datum to WGS84. Click ok twice and this will convert anything to this coordinate system. Make sure you have the current projection is set up correctly when changing coordinates. Cameron

  5. S.W. GMS 7.0 was just released, I would attempt this in the new version and see if you still get the error. If you do, send an email to support@aquaveo.com with the files zipped up and we can look at them. Cameron
  6. It sounds like the problem is the shape files are not matching up with the grid, is this correct? Make sure the coordinate system is set up correctly when reading in the shape files. Cameron
  7. Matt, In SMS 10.1 you are allowed to enter in a point source at a node in ppm. All you need to do is select the node, go to the RMA4 pull down menu and select "Assign BC". This will allow you to enter a constant value or a transient value. Cameron
  8. What you would need to do is embed a 1D structure into the 2D grid. You will need to create a network coverage, a BC coverage, and a 1D/2D connection coverage. 1. In the network coverage, you will create an arc that will represent the weir. Double click on the arc and and set type to weir and edit the attributes. 2. In the BC coverage create 4 arcs that create a box around where the weir will exist. Double click on the arcs upstream and downstream of the weir and change the type to flow source from 1Dmodel (SX). This will allow flow through these arcs into the 1D weir, leave the two arcs on the sides as not used. 3. Choose feature objects| build polygons. Double click on the polygon created and set the cell code to inactive-in mesh. This removes this remove the cells from the solution but they are still output in the solution mesh. 4. Make sure in Edit|preferences map tab, the snap feature objects to displayed inactive coverage nodes and vertices is selected. 5. In the 1D/2D coverage click arcs from one endpoint of each SX arc (created in step 2) and to the rearest weir endpoint. 6. Add the BC coverage created in step 2 to your geometry component. Drag the network connection and 1D/2D coverages under your simulation. 7. Setup the 1D model parameters by right clicking on your simulation. 8. Run the model

  10. The purpose of the intermediate start is to take previous solutions to help a model converge. This is useful when you are spinning down a model and did not use the steering module. There is not an option in SMS where you can have RMA2 run many times like you want. You would have to run each model separately by changing the input parameters. Cameron
  11. What you can do is select the cells you want to see with the grid selection tool. In the data pull down menu select flow budget, this will show the mass balance of the selected cells.

  13. You can export the total head as an ASCII data set by right clicking on the total head data set and selecting export. You will need to change the save type from binary to ASCII. Cameron
  14. I would contact the aquaveo support team at support@aquaveo.com. We may need to see the files to figure out what is going on. Make sure you have the latest build of GMS 6.5.
  15. You could try using the screen capture (CTRL+C) and pasting it in a word document or photoshop. This issue usually has something to do with the type of printer and where it is installed. Cameron
